Well, tries to at least.
It is very impressive technology though. Check out the below video, in which Vista has no problems recognising the Borat sound-a-like accent... I don't think Linux could do that.

Many new notebooks come with sensors that detect if sudden, violent movement - like a drop - and park the hard drive heads quickly to prevent damage to the disk and data. That's kind of useful but not heaps of fun.

TelstraClear has been adrift in New Zealand for a while now. The second-largest telco hasn't been able to bypass Telecom's vice-like grip on the last mile and been largely left out of the broadband market here.

C|Net has a report on Craig Mundie demonstrating Microsoft's cell-phone PC prototype, named "FonePlus" in typical, unimaginative Redmond fashion.

The Commerce Commerce said today, Friday July 21, that Telecom Mobile has copped a $45,000 fine with $3,000 costs ordered against it in the Wellington District Court.
