Weird Outlook recurring retrospective reminder

Outlook calendar item reminder
Ah... uhmm, happy extremely belated birthday then, Matt. Sorry I missed it last year :)

I really don't know where this came from, because I didn't enter it into Outlook's calendar. Matt must've hacked my Outlook (no, not really: it's probably data imported from another program).

The actual calendar item says:

Occurs every March 23 effective 23/03/1969.
This appointment occurs in the past

... which is complete nonsense. How can appointments occur in the past?

Methinks this qualifies as an Outlook recurring event bug.
