Apple updates iTunes 7 - audio issues fixed?

Apple has put up the iTunes 7.0.1 update for its media player, which has been causing a great deal of problems for users.

I've downloaded it, and so far so good - no distorted sound, and Apple seems to have sorted out the skipping too. Will have to wait testing with iPods though.

Either get iTunes from Apple's website or use the Software Update program.

Update Here's an official Apple support web page with suggestions on how to deal with the audio issues that many iTunes 7 users have reported. Note the bits about not having both the iTunes and audio card sound enhancers active at the same time. I've noticed the same behaviour with Windows Media Player, when its sound enhancer conflicts with the one provided by the audio drivers.
